Who is
Montgomery
Blair Sibley?
My practice has
been largely limited the last eighteen years to forfeiture
cases initiated by federal and state agencies. I am a former criminal
prosecutor with extensive civil litigation experience. I am both a
Continuing Legal Education lecturer and author on state and Federal Forfeitures. Additionally, I am a past
president of Forfeiture Endangers
American Rights, Inc.,
a leading anti-forfeiture reform organization.
For a reference to the
longstanding nature of my work in this field and the complexity
of the cases I have handled, see: U.S. vs. Daccarrett
6 F.3d 37 (2nd Cir. 1993). This case highlights many of the issues
found in a forfeiture case (and many issues seldom raised). It serves
as an excellent primer on forfeiture law.
Curiously, my calling for
representing those whom the state would seek to dispossess has ancestral precedent.
I am, of course,
available for co-counsel, referral or direct trial or appellate
representation in forfeiture matters. To see why this is a good idea, click here.
